The New York jeweler launched her line of modern, minimal jewelry in 2016—and already counts Beyoncé and Michelle Obama as fans. Driven by her love of ethnographic jewelry, the eponymous designer’s pieces blend ancient symbolism and metalsmithing techniques with her expertise in sculpting. Everything is handcrafted locally from largely recycled or reused materials, as seen in her latest lineup of pared-back rings, necklaces, and earrings made from sterling silver, brass, and gold vermeil—a new material for her that's exclusive to Moda. In keeping with her brand’s mission, she donates every month to the Toolbox Initiative, which funds Tuareg Silversmiths in North Africa to help keep their tradition alive.
