Rug & Kilim’s Moroccan Rug in Red with Geometric Patterns

Made with hand-knotted wool and a high-low texture, this 9×14 modern Moroccan style rug in red features a design with a contemporary approach unlike any other to the Moroccan tribal style. On the Design: Connoisseurs may admire the hues of warm and bright red underscore a subtle series of geometric patterns married to the high-low pile variations—where the keen eye will admire chevrons, maze-like meanders, stripes, and more among the subtle nods to primitivist Berber motifs at work. The use of minimal color and an almost open field style is beautifully executed, as is the adaptation of this modern take on a Moroccan design to such a large scale and intricate new quality. The result is fabulous textural work, both comfortable and livable while teeming with the air of culture and quality inspired by rugs of the middle Atlas mountains and their nomadic weavers. Keen eyes for detail will further appreciate the adaptation of this old-world style to a versatile-size, scale, and intricate look—one that both reimagines its many beauties for the modern home while still recapturing the beauty of Moroccan tribal weaving as well.
