Vintage Zeki Müren Rug with Black and Light Gold Geometric Pattern | Rug & Kilim

Made with hand-knotted wool circa 1960-1970, this 7×9 vintage rug from Turkey is believed to be the work of mid-century Turkish artist Zeki Müren. It’s a rare and exciting new curation from Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection—a collection devoted to Müren’s remaining and inspired works in our craft today. On the Design: A simple, yet bold palette of black and light gold underscores geometric patterns in an all over repeat, creating an almost beige-brown look from a standing point of view. Admirers of the craft will appreciate this rug among Müren’s select works with a more reserved palette, and how his attention to detail still makes such a sense of movement through subtle touches, like the variations in the pattern the keen eye will admire. Few ateliers could create such a smart sense of depth and dimensionality in such a reserved way, and this piece is exemplary of that beauty, as well as the many others that speak to Müren as a master of his craft. Condition: This vintage Zeki Müren rug further enjoys great condition for its age and origin, as well as full pile—an extremely collectible find among his works both designers and curators in high-end rugs will appreciate today.
