AMRAPALI

On the heels of the Maharajas & Mughals Magnificence auction at Christie's comes the latest collection of magnificent Indian jewelry from Amrapali. Based in Jaipur, the 40-year-old heritage jeweler uses traditional Indian techniques including polki diamonds and exquisite hand-painted enamel detailing on the back side of the pieces.

The collection is informed by Buddhism, with many styles featuring the sacred nine gems—a colorful combination of diamond, pearl, red coral, and emerald (among other stones) believed to protect and benefit the wearer.
