Vionnet

Madeleine Vionnet is the 1930s French fashion designer credited with "introducing the bias cut to the fashion world." Her brand continues to thrive today with flattering looks that emphasize a woman's natural body from the careful design directive of Rodolfo Paglialunga. For Spring Summer 2012, Paglialunga literally returned to the brand's roots, taking inspiration from the elegant draping and feminine silhouettes of Madame Vionnet's debut era of in thirties. Paglialunga added playful embellishments with stars, bows, peplums and crystals to modernize the sheer blouses, fitted pencil skirts with back slits and asymmetrical draped dresses for the more casual looks but upheld the true retro glam for the evening looks.
