It was a sapphire-blue Issa wrap dress that Kate Middleton chose to wear when announcing her engagement to Prince William in 2011. What emerged from the Issa runway this spring was a far cry from royal sophistication, as newly minted Creative Director Jamie O’Hare continues his foray into eveningwear with sharp, seductive cuts that revealed plenty of skin. There were sequined graphic minis and bodycon knits embellished with plastic eyelet skirts and cutout mesh panels. Elsewhere, a more minimalist vibe came through pure white separates, as a plunging fluid jumpsuit and billowing handkerchief midi dress more than provoked the imagination. It seems the Issa woman can do sexy too.
