Taya Platter

Meet Taya. With her strong lines, stylised face and graphic headdress, she could almost be modernist.Yet her inspiration comes directly from the faces found in ancient Coptic textiles. Painted entirely in deep blue on the natural pottery, the single-colour palette gives the design a distinctly contemporary character. No two Tayas are ever quite alike. Ancient inspiration, surprisingly modern face.
