The Australian designer with a preternatural eye for volume had two areas of focus this season: cultivating a longer, leaner silhouette than her previous flared creations, and embellishing these pieces with rich, luxurious textures. Spring saw body-skimming maxi dresses and skirts that fell to the ground in teal and blue satin. Jackets, pants, and shirting in heavy-duty cottons were quietly but impeccably tailored. Skirts came fringed, but still slim. Of course, the designer couldn’t forget her first love, and there were a few sculptural tops in tweed and silk organza that balanced the collection beautifully.
