A Minimalist’s Guide To SUMMER DRESSING With Beverly Nguyen

These days, the word “tastemaker” teeters on cliche, but Beverly Nguyen truly lives up to the title. Earlier this year, Nguyen opened “Beverly’s,” her eponymous home goods shop in the Lower East Side, as well as a second pop-up location at the iconic Rockefeller (and in addition to all this, she also works with celebrity stylist Kate Young). Integral to great style is authenticity (regardless of aesthetic), and it’s that—along with the innate confidence of those able to choose less over more—that best captures Nguyen’s inimitable cool. Take, for instance, her deceptively simple summer style mantra: “Wear less.” (If only it were so easy!) Fortunately, Nguyen’s impeccable curation of seasonal picks—from Paco Rabanne prints to Sophie Buhai pearls and Prada sandals—offers a foolproof guide on how to get it right.

Morning at the farmers market, visiting galleries, and shopping vintage in the East Village followed by having a long homemade lunch on the roof with my friends. Then, close to sunset, I start heading to The Odeon for martinis and ice cream.

PLACES TO BE?

Beverly’s NYC because I am biased and spend most of my days at the shop! I love being able to return to the NY Public Library, and I revisited the Noguchi Museum for the first time in over a year.
