If anyone knows how to throw a party, it’s Bronson van Wyck. The New York-based event planner is the mastermind behind every A-lister’s extravaganza, from Barack Obama to Beyoncé. His first book, “Born to Party, Forced to Work,” out this month, invites readers to step inside a world of lavish celebrations, from spectacular weddings to decadent masquerade balls. His mantra? “Too much of a good thing can be wonderful.”
THE TABLESCAPES

In time for the holiday season’s endless parties, we asked van Wyck to curate his favorite tablescapes from the latest home collections, and gleaned his best hosting tips for the months ahead.
HOLIDAY DINNER IN NEW YORK CITY

“Caviar at cocktails followed by food to warm you up on a cold night—roasted rack of lamb, potato pancakes, carrot souffle, finished off with sticky toffee pudding. I love the color combination of black and gold—as seen in Sieger by Furstenberg’s goblet—so much that I used it for the cover of my book. Christmas carols or jazz would be playing in the background as guests sip on hot toddys by the fire. Personalized hostess gifts for all twelve guests (that are as close as family) on the way out."
