1. “The first thing Scott and I always do when we arrive in Milan is drop our bags at the hotel (Excelsior Gallia) and take a taxi into the center to have an espresso macchiato (the perfect not-as-milky-as-a-cappuccino drink) at Marchesi 1824. The locations on Via Monte Napoleone as well as in the Galleria are as beautiful as the original one on Via S. Maria alla Porta.”

2. “I could easily spend a whole day at the Prada Foundation. I love the art, the views and the architecture. This season we’re looking forward to going to their new restaurant Torre for the first time. Bar Luce I visit several times each trip and am never disappointed by a simple Campari soda on the terrace.”

3. “This is a bit unusual, but Scott and I both love beautiful stationery, so when we are in Milan we order ours from Ditta Raimondi di Pettinaroli, a wonderful custom stationery store on Corso Venezia. They don’t speak much English, so beware if you don’t speak Italian. But they have binders full of all the different stationery samples that you can peruse and at the very least be inspired by.”

4. “The Armani Bar is a very special place for Scott and me. It’s actually where we got engaged so we always love to go there around Aperitivo. Plus, the cocktails are fantastic as are the panoramic views of Milan.”

5. “QC Termemilano is perfect at the end of a long fashion week. They have extremely Instagram-able relaxation rooms as well as thermal and steam baths. Stick around for Aperitivo hour when they serve free drinks and snacks! Tip: Things can get a little hectic so go with a partner and one can man the drink line while the other loads up on small bites!”
