24 Hours With...
Laura Vassar Brock
Of Brock Collection

With a successful design career and a beautiful family (not to mention she's undeniably beautiful herself), 31-year-old Laura Vassar Brock certainly appears to have it all. Put it this way: She’s the woman who manages to work out, spend a day at the office, pick up her three-year-old from school, drive to the beach for playtime on the sand and cook dinner in the evening for her family—all the while looking nothing less than a picture of easy elegance, usually in Brock florals (see, left). How does she do it? We asked the designer—who lives in Newport, California—for a peek inside her daily life.
1 pm: Lunch at one of the many amazing restaurants in DTLA! We love SugarFish, or Bottega Louie if we have something to celebrate in the office.

2 pm: Back to work. In the afternoon, we tend to host clients and brand ambassadors for custom fittings. Being in Los Angeles, we have loads of fittings for red carpet events or appearances and it’s nice to be able to host them in our studio.

5 pm: If I have an event to attend, I’ll change (at the office!) into a Brock dress from the most recent collection. Otherwise, I get on the road and drive to Newport in time for an ocean dip with CharlieBrock. All summer the water has been in the ‘70s-‘80s. You can always find us in the ocean with our neighbors around 6pm.

7 pm: Sit-down family dinner. These are really important to us. We cook pasta or barbecue steaks, or make enchiladas or tacos and sit down as a family in our backyard on the bay. It’s my favorite part of the day. After dinner, Charlie will fish off of the dock, or we’ll sit by the fire pit and share stories with a glass of red wine.
