TACKUSSANU SENEGAL: The Black History Month Capsule
The NYC-based brand dedicated to highlighting the rich artisanal history of Senegal has teamed up with Moda on a special edit of exclusive items in honor of Black History Month. Included is a range of pieces showcasing the stunning heritage of Senegalese craft—from the brand’s signature handwoven vessels, which are made by their female artisan partners in Senegal from sweet grass, salvaged plastic, and organic leather (and take up to 26 days to complete), to a vase made from indigenous ceramic wildclay, terracotta, and quartz using an ancient coiling technique, plus an extraordinary rosewood mask found in a midcentury excavation in Senegal.
