Ukrainian talents Natalya Kamenska and Maria Gavryluk, who formerly worked in fashion, now create homeware and accessories that showcase their home country’s rich artisanal history by reimagining traditional craftsmanship with a beautifully compelling, contemporary flair. The hope is to bring global awareness to local artistry—and help squash the country’s antiquated stereotypes—and the results have become a favorite of President Zelensky, who’s gifted their handmade semi-porcelain pieces on state visits. Here, find an edit of their tableware and vases, hand-painted with florals informed by 20th-century carpets on display at Kyiv’s National Folk Decorative Art Museum as well as Christian iconography and inspiring messages of “liberty,” “peace,” and “freedom.”
