There are few people who have truly earned the title of fashion icon. Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert is one of them. The Italian multihyphenate (she’s been a model, editor, stylist, and creative director) is now co-leading the Swedish fine jewelry house Engelbert 1920, which has been in her husband Oscar’s family for generations. “Oscar’s grandfather, father, and uncle ran the brand with a spirit of joy, generosity, and eccentricity,” she says. “They were famous for their social, lively nature—never taking life too seriously, yet holding the highest standards of quality and artistry. Today, Oscar and I are carrying on those same values and shaping Engelbert for the future.”
