ALAÏA
In the hospitable tradition of the late Azzedine Alaïa, Pieter Mulier invited industry insiders inside his Antwerp home to view his latest (and intimate) tribute to the sculptural, empowering codes of the Parisian Maison. Models walked with graceful command in rounded cocoons, fluted minis, flared eveningwear with dramatic trains, sensually draped jersey, and second-skin eyelet jumpsuits. Awash in a palette of black, white, and earthy brown—and enhanced with a subtle, fetishistic edge—it was Mulier’s most personal spin on Alaïa’s celebrated cornerstones, and a promising glimpse into the house’s future.
The buy: the concrete-imitation gown.
