COLETTE JEWELRY

The L.A.-based designer unveiled her latest pièce de résistance at the Couture Fine Jewelry Show earlier this year: a statement tri-color necklace featuring intricate arrangements of feather-like projections crafted from mother of pearl, onyx, white enamel, and diamonds.
Named “The Penacho,” the striking Aztec-inspired design, part of a set that includes earrings and rings, references the jeweler’s Mexican heritage (she grew up between Paris and Mexico City). “Onyx symbolizes strength as it was traditionally used to make weapons,” she says. “Along with jade, it is one of the most important stones we have in our culture.”
