As creative director of both Versus Versace and his eponymous label, the Italian-Belgian designer is known for his unabashedly sexy aesthetic. And while he certainly doesn’t disappoint with this latest collection, a venture into edgier, urban territory is apparent. Thigh-high slits, slinky jersey numbers, and sheer shifts usher in a refined sensuality that begs to be shown off this spring. Denim—a first for Vaccarello—comes high-waisted and body-hugging. In addition to the jeans, embellishments emerge daring and inventive: The model Anja Rubik’s face is artfully emblazoned across T-shirts and easy tank dresses in metal studs, as tattoo-inspired prints lend youthful flair to white cotton shirts. Without a doubt, the cool girls have found next season’s uniform.
